Had cause to remind myself of this recently. It’s still true, and it’s more important than ever.

People think that the main benefit of writing in the public domain is "exposure", or that it compels you to think with more clarity/rigour. Both are true, but both are subservient to the fact that writing in public leads to a handful of unexpected and meaningful relationships.
